35mm Camera Body

35mm camera body

    camera body
  • A system camera is a camera with interchangeable components that constitutes the core of a system. Early representatives include Leica I Schraubgewinde (1930), Exakta (1936) and the Nikon F (1959).

  • Camera Body is the camera without its lense. In SLR world some people say its ok to have a basic camera but you must have good lenses.

  • The casing that holds the various camera components.

    35mm
  • 35 mm film is the basic film gauge most commonly used for chemical still photography (see 135 film) and motion pictures, and remains relatively unchanged since its introduction in 1892 by William Dickson and Thomas Edison, using film stock supplied by George Eastman.

  • A small format film, with an image size of 24 x 36mm available in 12, 24 or 36 exposures. It is the most commonly used film size, but does not offer the quality of medium or large format, because this small negative must be enlarged quite a bit in the darkroom loosing it's clarity and sharpness.

  • The standard film gauge for films intended to be shown in cinemas. Depending on the film stock being used, 35mm film is capable of producing an image of sufficient detail to fill even a large cinema screen.

CANON EOS REBEL X S 35mm FILM SLR STUDENT CAMERA BODY AND LENS COMBO

CANON EOS REBEL X S 35mm FILM SLR STUDENT CAMERA BODY AND LENS COMBO

I found out if no User's Manual is included you can download one for free from the Canon USA website as well as other places online. Not all sellers include batteries or a User's Manual. Check the Comments of the seller's listing. This camera does have both manual settings and auto settings but it is helpful to have a User's Manual to know how it's done with this camera. Just visit the Canon USA website to download a free manual. Please read the comments of each seller's posting as there might be different options or accessories included with their sale. Otherwise this sale is just for the camera body and 35-80 lens combo. CR123 Battery required unless otherwise noted by the seller. With a dimension and weight of 145mm x 92mm x 62 mm, 370g, it is more compact and lighter than the comparing predecessor (EOS-1000FN/Rebel SII's 148mm x 100mm x 69mm and weighs 470g). The camera remains as an entry level AF-SLR. Many of the features embodied were carefully being chosen to be included in its features list. The basic business objective for the Rebel XS is to provide an affordable, compact, lightweight Auto and Manual SLR to attract potential first time user to select Canon as their base system. So, you can expect this SLR to perform at par or better than many other EOS bodies. Great film camera for photography students.

My Ultimate 35mm Camera Bag

My Ultimate 35mm Camera Bag

Having been very lucky over the past few months, i've been able to put together the sort of film camera bag i never thought i'd be able to.

Today it was finished off with an excellent Outfit Case in the form of a classic Billingham L2 in weatherproof canvas, tan leather and brass.

I chose this one because it perfect fits my 3 camera setup, while still offering space for a 4th camera, film and, of course, my wallet.

Inside we have the following

Leica M6TTL + Voigtlander 50mm Nokton f1.1
Leica CL + Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide Heliar f4.5 + 15mm viewfinder
Leica M2 + Leica 35mm Summaron f3.5 (waiting to be repaired and recovered, so not taken out atm)
Lomo LCA (Lomo Compact Automatic) 32mm f2.8
Film box + 6x 35mm rolls
Aaaaand my wallet

The films are:
Kodak Ultramax 400 Colour
Kodak Ektar 100 Colour
Kodak Elite Chrome Extra Colour 100 Color Slide
Lomography Redscale XR 50-200
Fuji Neopan Acros 100 Black and White
Kodak Tri-X 400 Black and White

Needless to say, i'm thoroughly chuffed with this setup and while i won't always fill the outfit case with everything shown here, i almost certainly always go out with at least 2 bodies and some cash.

Spent a good while exploring my island last night. My lack of ability to read Japanese lends an excellent feeling of isolation to this game.

From my hut I made my way over Rocky Beach, through Turtle Bay, across Mermaid Beach and the Mangrove Woods before getting lost in the Sea Forest. The sun set while I was trying to continue on through the forest so I decided to head back to my room. I had a meal by accident when attempting to check my mail (there wasn't any anyhow) and then made my way to the coral beach.

I stuck to just exploring the perimeter of the island to see if I could get a grasp on just how big it is. Unfortunately I hit road blocks in both directions so I'm not entirely sure just yet.

During my explorations last night I realized this game does two things I wish more PSP titles did.

1. It allows you to take photos in game and save them as jpgs. I took this shot of myself watching to moon rise over the ocean. The fact that these jpgs are saved to the PSP's memory card and easily shared is phenomenal in my opinion.

2. The game also allows you to listen to your own MP3's via the radio station. I haven't played with that feature much yet as I'm busy exploring, but it's great to know it's there.

I took some photos of the island’s wildlife last night (including penguins) and picked up what I'm guessing was some fruit.

The controls in the game are 'stiff' at best. The analog nub controls the camera oddly while Resident Evil-like tank controls are mapped to the d-pad.

I figured out that you can hold down the right trigger to walk instead of holding up on the d-pad. Holding down the right trigger and the x button would cause you to run. Why they didn't use the analog nub for movement is a mystery to me, but oh well.

Another issue with the controls is getting used to the pressing the O button as opposed to the X button. In most Western games the X button usually corresponds to the 'enter' button while the O is often the 'cancel' button. These two are swapped from Japanese games which causes me to screw up every now and then. Not a biggie, but something that I really need to adjust to.

It's amazing how other things are so similar though. It's not difficult to figure out which options to pick even despite the language barrier. My experience with playing many many games has given me a sort of intuition when it comes to navigating the Japanese menus. You can just sorta anticipate what each option in the list is as far. That has been a huge help when it comes to performing basic actions.

Some highlights of the night were lighting a torch to find my way through a jungle, changing into my bathing suit, and eating a piece of fruit. It may sound stupid, but I was pleased to discover that you can actually change your position while sitting down. It’s a nice little detail.

Portable Island has 5 different 'game modes'. They are Play, Music, Radio, Alarm & Stand.

My plan is to go through these in order and document as much as I can about each. As you may have guessed, I am currently in 'play' mode.

As much as I wish this game was in English, I do believe that the language barrier will only add to my enjoyment as every small accomplishment I make is its own reward.

Looking forward to exploring more of the Island later today.

What technology does an online journalist use to cover the world's largest technology conference?

A laptop (HP 6120) - all of our stories and blog entries will be written on this machine. The most important feature of the laptop is its ability to connect to the internet wirelessly. In order to send back stories and photos I'll need to access one of the many free wi-fi networks in operation in Las Vegas.

A digital camera (Canon 350D) - I'm not a professional photographer but pictures are an essential part of any online news story. All of my pictures for CES will be included in our CES Flickr group which you are welcome to join.

An MP3 player/recorder (Creative Zen Nano plus and iRiver) - I've had my fingers burnt in the past relying on just a hard disk-based audio recorder so I'm taking two devices. One is a flash based recorder while the other has a small hard disk drive.

A wi-fi enabled mobile phone (Nokia N80) - sometimes you don't want to have to open your laptop and log in to check e-mail or the latest news on the blogs.

A PDA/mobile phone (Palm Treo 750v) - I want to be able to see all of my appointments at a glance and I can sync the Palm Treo to my laptop to pick up e-mails, calendar etc. Sadly it doesn't have wi-fi - hence the need for two mobile phones.

Cables - Lots and lots of power cables, charger, plug adapters etc. It may be the wireless networked world but until power and charging go wire-free it remains very much a wired world at large.
